About
Sarah is a drummer, educator, and composer who currently lives in New York City and completed her studies at The Juilliard School in 2021, where she learned from greats Billy Drummond and Kenny Washington. Along with performing at many jazz clubs in NYC, Gooch tours around the country with soul singer Morgan James. She has also played at the Bern (Switzerland) International Jazz Festival and performed with Bria Skonberg, Camille Thurman, Lage Lund, Doug Wamble and at several swing dance festivals around the world with the Gordon Webster Band. Sarah was a featured artist in the Park Avenue Armory 100 Years 100 Women Project, has participated in the NJPAC Geri Allen Jazz Residency and was a finalist in the North Carolina Percussive Arts Society drumset competition. She is a native of Cumberland, Maine.
Teaching Experience
Sarah has taught a wide range of ages and skill levels since 2015 and enjoys teaching all styles of music. Most recently, Sarah became the drumset instructor and an ensemble coach at the Interlochen Arts Camp. She has also given master classes and workshops at a variety of schools around NYC and North Carolina.
